Sound financial systems and practices are essential in managing public money and ensuring that the requirements of the Public Finance Act 1989 and other relevant financial legislation and policy frameworks are met.
The Finance Section is responsible for a full range of financial matters, including the development of financial policies, budget returns, internal controls, meeting audit standards and reporting to external agencies.

Archives New Zealand owns three buildings and will shortly own a fourth when the new repository in Auckland is completed. Building Services is responsible for the maintenance and code compliance of the owned buildings. It also has responsibility for building security.
Corporate Support provides a range of administrative, reception and other services to Archives New Zealand. The role of this area is important in presenting a favourable image of Archives New Zealand to callers and users and in providing relevant support services to staff.
