Archives New Zealand officially endorses the International Standard on Records Management, ISO 15489, as a code of best practice for public offices. We have purchased a licence to distribute the Standard free-of-charge to public offices covered by the Public Records Act 2005.
To obtain a copy of the Standard, contact the Government Recordkeeping Programme at:

We will send you a copy on disk for uploading on your agency intranet, together with a licence agreement. The licence agreement should be signed by the Chief Executive (or equivalent) or by a senior officer with delegated authority.
