Supreme Court Probate records

Accession number (or unique identifier)
Probate is the official proving of a will. Probate files contain all the legal documentation required for the granting of probate on a will i.e. the legal administration of an estate. Therefore, most files contain a copy of the deceased person's will. We hold probate files and registers from Christchurch, Timaru and the West Coast. These files are indexed by name, and record the location and occupation of the deceased.
