Responsibilites to New Zealand

We are the official guardian of New Zealand’s public archives. We are responsible under the Public Records Act 2005 for ensuring records of long-term value are kept permanently and that people have access to those records.

We provide research and copying services. You can hire us to research a topic in the archives, or purchase copies of archives that you’ve found through your own research.
